Bangladesh Prime Minister Tareque Rahman, currently visiting China, held a bilateral meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang. The meeting took place on Thursday (June 25) at 5 PM at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
Following the meeting, two agreements and thirteen Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between the two countries to strengthen cooperation in various sectors.
Tareque Rahman’s Additional Press Secretary, Atiqur Rahman Rumon, confirmed the meeting. Prime Minister Tareque Rahman led Bangladesh’s high-level delegation during the talks, while Premier Li Qiang led the Chinese delegation.
The Bangladeshi delegation included Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman, Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan, State Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit, Foreign Affairs Advisor Humayun Kabir, Finance and Planning Advisor Rashed Hasan Al Mahmud Titumir, and Education Advisor Mahadi Amin, along with other senior officials.
It is understood that discussions during the meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between the two countries in trade, investment, infrastructure, energy, education, and other areas of mutual interest.
Subsequently, in the presence of both Prime Ministers, two agreements and thirteen Memoranda of Understanding concerning cooperation in various fields were signed between Bangladesh and China. This initiative is regarded as a significant step towards further deepening Dhaka-Beijing relations.
