Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has announced that the government will take initiatives for the release of Bangladeshi expatriates imprisoned in Malaysia for various reasons. He stated that approximately two thousand Bangladeshis are incarcerated in the country on various charges, and the government will endeavor to take necessary steps for their release.

He made these remarks while addressing a gathering of dignitaries at the Shangri-La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, on Sunday night (June 21).

The Prime Minister stated that a large number of Bangladeshi workers are employed in Malaysia. To prevent unskilled workers from going abroad in the future, the country’s vocational and technical education institutions will be made more effective.
