    5 Bangladeshi Migrant Workers Killed in Horrific Road Accident in Qatar

    Five Bangladeshi migrant workers have been killed in a horrific road accident in Qatar, a Middle Eastern nation. All the deceased hail from Kanaighat Upazila in Sylhet. The tragic accident occurred on a highway in Qatar in the early hours of Sunday (June 21), local time.

    The deceased have been identified as Jasim Uddin, Jibal Uddin, Mostak Ahmed, Zubayer Ahmed, and Kader Ahmed, all from Gachbari village in Kanaighat Upazila.

    According to sources from the Bangladesh Embassy in Qatar and the families of the deceased, the expatriates were on their way to work in the early morning, as was their daily routine. On the way, the vehicle carrying them suddenly lost control and veered off the highway. All five Bangladeshis died at the scene.

    The specific cause of the accident is not yet known. However, local traffic police have launched an investigation to determine why the vehicle lost control.

    The sudden deaths of these migrant workers, who had ventured abroad for their livelihoods, have cast a pall of grief over their native villages. The atmosphere in Kanaighat has become heavy with the lamentations of their relatives. The Bangladesh Embassy has already contacted the families of the deceased to officially convey the tragic news.

    Upon receiving news of the accident, officials from the Bangladesh Embassy in Qatar promptly rushed to the scene and the local hospital morgue. They are taking stock of the overall situation and have initiated necessary legal assistance procedures.

    The embassy authorities stated that the necessary legal and administrative procedures are being completed to repatriate the bodies of the deceased. Constant communication is being maintained with the Qatari administration to ensure the bodies are handed over to their relatives as quickly as possible.

    Regarding this, Ahmed Malek, General Secretary of Jalalabad Association Qatar, said, “Efforts are underway to expedite the necessary legal procedures in coordination with the Bangladesh Embassy, with the aim of repatriating the bodies of the five deceased expatriates to their families as soon as possible. All necessary initiatives have been taken to achieve this.”
